Trademarking Your domain name or business name
So many of us online have heard about or read about stories where one person will try to trademark a name which is part of or in whole the name of a business or business web site domain name and all of the issues that go along with lawsuits related to those domain name trademark lawsuits. If at all avoidable you absolutely want to make sure to avoid one of these lawsuits by making sure that you cover your basis and trademark your domain name or online business name if you feel that you want to own that domain and trademark name outright. You should also use the trademark services out there to see if someone has already trademarked a name before you start to look at a major investment into a name of a business which may already have been taken by someone else or some other company.
The best way to go about making suer that you have all of your basis covered is to go online and type in something like trademark my name into Google or some other search engine. What you will find in the results is many online sites that you can go to which will help you trademark your domain name or your business name for a fee of usually between $200 - $500, although you can find some more expensive sites they are not necessarily the best or most hassel free sites to go to to trademark your domain name for your web site.
One site that we have found in the adwords search results for trademark my name is called MyCorporation, which is brought to you by the Intuit group of companies. MyCorporation.com has a clean looking web site with a toll free 888 # that you can use to call for their services. While none of us here at Best website Hosting has never used mycorporation.com we have heard some good things about them.
Another result from Google’s natural search listings has Trademarkmyname.com at the top of the search results listings for the natural keyword search term for keywords trademark my name. Pretty obvious how that domain got to the top of that spot. In any case this site Trademarkmyname.com does not have a very professional feel when compared to the mycorporation.com web site and not much is known about them.
In any case whomever you go with be sure to research how to trademark your name as there are several steps you need to go through and follow correctly to get to the trademark deal done right and make sure that you research what companies you will use to make sure that whomever you go with are reputable and not overly expensive.
